DCC CV Vault. Last updated 29 July 2026.
DCC CV Vault keeps your locomotive roster on your own devices. It has no account, collects no analytics, shows no advertising, sells nothing to anyone, and talks to no server operated by the developer.
Everything you enter: locomotive names and details, CV numbers and values, function mappings, snapshots, notes, and any photos you choose to attach. All of it is stored locally on your device by the operating system's own database.
Three things, all of which you start yourself.
If you are signed in to iCloud, your roster syncs through your own private iCloud database. That data belongs to your Apple Account. The developer cannot see it and it is not shared with anyone. Turning iCloud off for the app keeps everything local.
When you export a locomotive or your whole roster, the app writes a JSON file wherever you tell it to. Where that file goes afterwards is up to you.
The lifetime unlock is processed and verified by the App Store. The developer never sees your payment details, and receives no personal information from the transaction beyond what Apple provides to all developers in aggregate sales reporting.
When you attach a photo, the app reads only the photo you pick, and only for as long as it takes to process and store it. It does not browse your photo library.
When you import a JMRI roster or a backup file, the app reads only the files you select, and only during that import.
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
